PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) continues to strengthen its dominance in supporting housing access for low-income communities (MBR). By February 2026, this state-owned bank has successfully disbursed subsidised Home Ownership Credit (KPR) financing worth Rp16.79 trillion.

This substantial realisation has reached 122,838 borrowers throughout Indonesia. BRI’s President Director, Hery Gunardi, emphasised that this achievement is tangible proof of the company’s consistency in executing the government’s mandate for equitable development while improving living standards.

“BRI is committed to providing decent, affordable, and quality housing access for low-income communities. The distribution of subsidised KPR is part of BRI’s role in supporting equitable development and enhancing societal welfare,” said Hery Gunardi, quoted from Antara on Thursday (26/3).

Based on company data, the KPR Sejahtera Facility for Housing Financing Liquidity (FLPP) scheme still dominates with a value of Rp16.38 trillion. This figure indicates the high trust of low-income communities in the government-subsidised financing products through BRI.

In addition to FLPP, BRI has recorded realisations in several other subsidy instruments, including KPR Tapera at Rp316.93 billion, Subsidised Interest Differential Mortgage (SSB) at Rp91.65 billion, and the Savings-Based Housing Finance Assistance Programme (BP2BT) at Rp8.89 billion.

Hery explained that the massive distribution of subsidised KPR not only provides housing solutions for the community but also creates broad multiplier effects for the national economy. Housing construction activities are certain to drive the construction sector, building materials industry, logistics services, and employment absorption.

Moreover, the presence of new housing areas also opens business opportunities for MSME entrepreneurs around the housing locations, aligning with BRI’s core business focus in the micro sector.

Looking ahead to the rest of 2026, BRI is optimistic that these figures will continue to grow. With support from more than 7,000 work units spread across various regions, BRI has a strong infrastructure to reach communities in remote areas.

“In the future, BRI will continue to expand the reach of housing financing so that more Indonesian families can own decent and affordable homes. We are optimistic that this programme can reach more communities in various regions,” Hery concluded.
