BRI Disburses Rp65.95 Trillion in KUR in First Four Months of 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) has disbursed People’s Business Credit (KUR) amounting to Rp65.95 trillion to approximately 1.3 million borrowers across Indonesia from January to April 2026. Micro BRI Director Akhmad Purwakajaya stated in Jakarta on Thursday that the company continues to strengthen its contribution to the government’s Astacita program, which aims for national self-sufficiency in food production. According to the bank, the majority of KUR disbursement is directed towards production sectors including agriculture, fisheries, and processing industries, accounting for 66.47% of BRI’s total KUR. Furthermore, the agriculture sector is the largest contributor, with disbursements of Rp27.95 trillion, equivalent to 42.38% of the bank’s total KUR. In terms of beneficiaries, the KUR disbursement has reached 558,000 farmers and 23,000 fishermen in the first four months of 2026. Akhmad said KUR is a financing instrument for the bank to support micro-businesses and productive sectors. Therefore, the bank disburses KUR to expand access to capital. This not only creates jobs but also boosts business productivity and economic circulation across regions. In implementation, Akhmad added that the bank continues to apply prudence with emphasis on transparency and accountability. He noted this is important as KUR is fully sourced from banking funds collected from the public, so credit quality must be maintained. Furthermore, the bank’s KUR disbursement is also aimed at helping businesses grow as access to capital increases. This is reflected in borrowers’ ability to expand their business scale and enhance capacity. This is evident from the number of borrowers who upgraded their status, reaching 307,000 or 31.96% of the target of 962,000 borrowers. On the other hand, the bank noted that KUR’s reach among households has shown a consistent upward trend. By April 2026, around 19 in every 100 households accessed BRI’s KUR facilities, up from 18 in 2025 and 17 in 2024.
