BRI Becomes Largest Contributor to National Housing Credit Programme Distribution
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BRI, continues to strengthen its role as a strategic partner of the government in expanding access to affordable housing finance for the public. This commitment is realised through optimisation of the Housing Credit Programme (Kredit Program Perumahan, or KPP) distribution as part of support for the Three Million Houses Programme and the inclusive and sustainable housing sector development agenda.
Throughout 2026, BRI has recorded positive performance in KPP distribution. From the beginning of January to the end of February, BRI has absorbed a KPP quota of Rp2.30 trillion distributed to 17,443 debtors. This realisation has reached 28.75 per cent of the 2026 KPP distribution target of Rp8 trillion.
This achievement positions BRI as the bank with the highest KPP distribution nationally, with a contribution of approximately 52.2 per cent of total national KPP distribution. This dominance confirms BRI’s commitment and consistency in supporting the government programme in the housing sector, whilst strengthening the company’s role as a driver of people-based financing.
BRI President Director Hery Gunardi stated that optimisation of KPP distribution is part of the company’s strategy in expanding inclusive and sustainable financing access.
“The KPP distribution target of Rp8 trillion in 2026 is supported by BRI’s fundamental strengths, ranging from a large customer base to a service network that reaches remote areas across Indonesia. Thus, housing sector financing, including for micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) actors in the construction supply chain, can be distributed more evenly and effectively,” said Hery.
Hery added that strengthening financing in the housing sector focuses not only on the consumption side but also on the production side. By supporting building material business actors, small-scale contractors, and distributors in regions, KPP is expected to create a sustainable housing ecosystem and increase local economic leverage.
Appreciation for BRI’s performance was also expressed by the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait. He emphasised that BRI’s role is strategically important in ensuring the success of the people’s housing programme, including optimisation of Housing KUR/KPP.
“I express my gratitude and appreciation to BRI for its commitment in ensuring that Housing KUR is absorbed very well. To date, BRI is the largest KPP-distributing bank. BRI’s role and support are certainly very strategic in strengthening the people’s housing programme. Thank you, Director,” said Maruarar.
