The CEO of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI) has signalled that the amount of dividend distribution this year will increase from last year. The Director of BRI, Hery Gunardi, said that the bank’s capital is currently very adequate and far above the regulatory requirements, namely the capital adequacy ratio (CAR) which reaches 23.52%.

“So, when we determine the dividend ratio, the bank will of course consider the bank’s capital structure, our capital or CAR. As well as plans for growth to support sustainable business in the future,” said Hery in a press conference on the presentation of financial performance in 2025, Thursday (26/2/2026).

Considering the very strong CAR, Hery said that BRI should have room to set dividend policies for the 2025 financial year with a higher payout ratio than the dividend amount in previous years.

“Given these conditions, we should have room to provide dividends with a higher payout ratio compared to the historical levels that have existed so far,” he said.

In addition to producing optimal capital conditions, this higher dividend payout ratio policy is also BRI’s way of continuously providing sustainable added value to shareholders. This includes the profitability ratio reflected in the return on equity (ROE).

“Including the ROE will also increase. If, for example, a larger dividend is given, BRI’s return on equity will also be higher,” he said.

For the 2024 financial year, BRI has distributed cash dividends of IDR 51.73 trillion or IDR 343.40 per share. This includes an interim dividend of IDR 20.33 trillion or IDR 135 per share.

Meanwhile, BRI’s net profit for the year was recorded at IDR 57.13 trillion throughout 2025. The profit decreased 5.26% year-on-year (yoy) from IDR 60.30 trillion in 2024.
