BRI absorbs Rp2.3 trillion housing credit programme quota by February 2026
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BRI, has absorbed Rp2.3 trillion from the Housing Credit Programme (KPP) quota this year, disbursed to 17,443 debtors from early January through late February 2026. This achievement represents 28.75 per cent of the 2026 KPP disbursement target of Rp8 trillion.
BRI’s Chief Executive Officer Hery Gunardi stated that the KPP target is supported by BRI’s fundamental strengths, including its large customer base and service network that reaches remote areas across Indonesia.
“Through this mechanism, housing sector financing, including for SMEs in the construction supply chain, can be distributed more evenly and effectively,” Gunardi said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.
The KPP is a government-subsidised investment and working capital financing facility designed to stimulate economic activity and SME operations from both supply and demand perspectives, particularly in the building materials and construction sectors. The scheme supports home ownership for the public whilst creating multiplier effects that drive regional economic growth.
Gunardi stated that optimising KPP disbursements forms part of the company’s strategy to expand inclusive and sustainable financing access. He added that strengthening financing in the housing sector focuses not only on consumption but also on production. By supporting building material businesses, small-scale contractors, and regional distributors, the KPP is expected to create a sustainable housing ecosystem and boost local economic leverage.
BRI’s KPP disbursement achievement positions it as the bank with the highest national KPP disbursement, contributing approximately 52.2 per cent of total national KPP disbursements. According to the company, this dominance reaffirms BRI’s commitment and consistency in supporting the government’s housing sector programme whilst strengthening its role as a driver of people-based financing.
Moving forward, BRI has stated it will continue to accelerate KPP disbursements whilst maintaining prudential principles, good governance, and measured risk management. Through this approach, BRI is confident it can maintain its position as a leader in national KPP disbursement whilst reinforcing its role as a bank that provides financial solutions for the public and supports Indonesia’s sustainable economic development.
Housing and Settlement Area Minister Maruarar Sirait also appreciated BRI’s performance, emphasising that BRI’s role is strategically important in ensuring the success of the people’s housing programme, including optimisation of Housing KUR or KPP.
