The pressure on the rupiah is occurring amid the strengthening of the US dollar in the global market. The US dollar index (DXY) at 09:00 WIB was observed rising 0.15% to the level of 98.521. The US dollar is strengthening in line with increasing demand for safe-haven assets, amid market concerns over the escalation of war in the Middle East. This situation keeps pressure in the global financial markets quite high. The strengthening of the US dollar ultimately narrows the room for strengthening in emerging market currencies, including the rupiah.
