Jakarta — Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq in a sting operation (OTT). The KPK stated that Fadia was arrested alongside several other individuals.

“Our team secured a number of people in the Pekalongan region, Central Java, one of whom is the regent,” said Budi to journalists when requested for comment on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.

Budi stated that the Pekalongan Regent was immediately transported to Jakarta for further investigation. However, he has not yet detailed the identities of other parties arrested in addition to the Pekalongan Regent in this operation.

Budi also did not clarify the case being investigated in this sting operation. The KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of those apprehended in the operation. Currently, the individuals detained in the sting operation remain classified as persons under examination.
