Indonesia’s unemployment figures experienced a slight decline in the February 2026 period. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded an Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) of 7.24 million people, or 4.68%.

“The Open Unemployment Rate for February 2026 reached 4.68%,” stated BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti during a press conference at the BPS Central Office in Jakarta on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

In the previous period, the TPT was recorded at 7.28 million people, or 4.76%. Meanwhile, in February 2024, unemployment reached 7.20 million people, or 4.82%.

“The open unemployment rate for February 2026 is 4.68%, meaning approximately 5 out of every 100 members of the working-age population are unemployed,” she explained.
