BPS and PLN Verify Data of 90,629 Electricity Customers in Tanjungpinang
Tanjungpinang, Kepri (ANTARA) - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and PT PLN (Persero) are collaborating to verify the data of 90,629 household electricity customers in Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands (Kepri), through the National Single Social and Economic Data Collection (DTSEN) programme.
“BPS and PLN have cooperated in field inspection activities (ground check) of PLN users to strengthen the validity of national electricity data,” said the Public Relations Officer of BPS Kepri, Resa Surya Utama, in Tanjungpinang, Kepri, on Tuesday.
Resa stated that in this activity, BPS plays a role in preparing data collection infrastructure (server and system), then the data collection monitoring and evaluation system, assistance in training data collection personnel, and supervision support in the field.
Meanwhile, the data collection officers are PLN meter readers. The field activities are taking place from March to August 2026.
“We urge the public to accept the arrival of PLN meter readers so that this activity can run smoothly and on time,” said Resa.
Meanwhile, the Manager of PLN UP3 Tanjungpinang, Rully Agus Widanarto, stated that overall, there are 90,629 household customers targeted for electricity data validation through the DTSEN programme.
Based on operational data up to April 2026, PLN Customer Service Unit (ULP) Tanjungpinang City recorded a field inspection realisation of 71.86% of the monthly target. From a target of 12,327 customers, 8,859 household customers have been verified.
He continued that ULP Tanjungpinang City has 37,532 household tariff customers, both prepaid and postpaid.
To date, the total validation progress has reached 23.60%.
“To support the implementation of the activity, PLN is deploying 14 field officers with an average workload of 2,680 customers per officer,” he revealed.
Meanwhile, in the PLN ULP Bintan Centre area, he said, the validation process is being accelerated amid a larger number of customers. From a total of 53,097 household customers, the field inspection realisation up to April was 4,789 customers or 27.08% of the monthly target of 17,682 customers.
The number of officers in ULP Bintan Centre is eight, with an average responsibility of 6,637 customers per officer.
“Up to this period, the achievement against the total target in that area is at 9.01%,” Rully explained.
He stated that to ensure customer safety and comfort during the verification process, each officer is equipped with an official assignment letter from BPS and the implementing partner.
In addition, this activity is supported by the regional government through a circular from the Governor of Kepri addressed to all regents/mayors throughout Kepri Province.
BPS has also sent notification letters to every village office as a form of socialisation that field inspection activities are ongoing in the community environment.
“This cross-agency synergy is expected to produce accurate data to support the formulation of more targeted national energy policies,” he said.
