Blora, Central Java — The Ministry of Agraria and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) through the Blora District Land Office is targeting completion of the land compensation process for the construction of Karangnongko Dam in Kradenan District, Blora Regency, Central Java, by 2026.

“The construction of Karangnongko Dam is a national strategic infrastructure project from the central government that requires 392 hectares of land,” said Elvyn Bina Eka Kusuma, head of the Administrative Section at BPN Blora, in Blora on Friday.

According to him, the dam construction project will impact 535 heads of household (KK) who will subsequently require relocation.

To fulfil the land requirements, approximately 960 land parcels were initially planned. However, following the inventory process, the number of registered parcels increased to 1,037 parcels.

He explained that the land acquisition process is currently at the assessment and data validation stage for land parcels, meaning compensation payments to the public have not yet been processed.

“Compensation payments are currently at zero,” he stated.

The temporary validation process is being conducted in several villages within the dam construction project area, including Mendenrejo Village with 17 parcels, Ngrawoh Village with 328 parcels, Nginggil Village with 177 parcels, Nglebak Village with 372 parcels, and Megeri Village with 143 parcels.

Elvyn explained that the land acquisition process has currently entered four stages, with certain parcels already at the announcement stage.

“Currently, the process has progressed through four stages, and some are already at the announcement stage for 17 parcels,” he said.

He emphasised that validation of the 1,037 land parcels is being conducted to ensure there are no errors relating to the size or area of land required for the dam construction project.

According to him, the construction of Karangnongko Dam is expected to provide significant benefits to the public, particularly in supporting water resources management and regional development around the project area.

Elvyn added that his office will continue to maximise the ongoing process to ensure the completion target is met as planned.

“Currently, we remain in the inventory and announcement stages. We hope the inventory process can be completed this year, while the validation and compensation payment process will be completed by 2027 at the latest,” he said.
