BPK: BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Agency System Meets Established Criteria
Jakarta (ANTARA) — Member III of the Indonesian Audit Board (BPK) Akhsanul Khaq stated that the agency system of the Employment Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) has met established criteria.
“Overall, the BPK concludes that the management of the agency system has met criteria with exceptions, demonstrating that governance foundations are operational, but still require refinement,” he told BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Chief Executive Officer Saiful Hidayat during the submission of the Audit Report on Performance and Compliance in an official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan operates a programme called Perisai, an acronym for Indonesian Social Security Drivers, which aims to expand the coverage and protection of employment social security, particularly for informal workers and non-wage earners (BPU) and micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM).
The programme operates through an agency system, where Perisai agents assist with socialisation, registration, and education regarding the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan programme.
The performance audit on the Effectiveness of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Membership Management from 2024 through the first semester of 2025, and the compliance audit on Agency System Management from 2023 through the first semester of 2025, were conducted based on the mandate of the BPK Strategic Plan 2025-2029.
According to Akhsanul, this aligns with the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025-2029 and represents follow-up results reported by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
The development of follow-up actions on BPK recommendations for BPJS Ketenagakerjaan reportedly shows a positive trend, with the majority of recommendations being implemented in accordance with guidance.
On a separate occasion, the BPK also submitted an audit report on the Effectiveness of Indonesian Tourism Marketing Activities from 2023 through the first semester of 2025 to the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar). The report was received directly by Tourism Minister Widayanti Putri, accompanied by Deputy Tourism Minister Ni Luh Enik Ermawati.
“The BPK conducts audits to assess the effectiveness of Indonesian tourism marketing activities in order to boost the national tourism sector economy. With strong commitment from all entities, it is hoped that every recommendation can be implemented consistently to realise increasingly effective, transparent, and results-oriented governance,” he said.
