In welcoming Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Indonesian Employment Social Security Agency) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Indonesian workers through backing the Ministry of Manpower’s free homecoming programme initiative.

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Director General Saiful Hidayat stated that this support represents institutional care for worker welfare, particularly during the important occasion of reuniting with family in their hometowns.

“First, on behalf of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan family, I wish to congratulate all Indonesian workers in welcoming Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. This momentum is a deeply meaningful time for workers to reunite with their beloved families,” said Saiful on Tuesday 17 March.

He explained that this year BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is providing full support to the Ministry of Manpower’s free homecoming programme initiative. Beyond the participant send-off event held today, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan will also support homecoming activities organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and several regional governments.

“Overall, the support we are providing this year reaches approximately 1,000 workers. Specifically at the Ministry of Manpower, this year we are supporting 15 buses and homecoming kits including neck pillows, light refreshments, first aid kits and mineral water. This number is up from the previous year which had 10 buses and the same homecoming kits. This collaboration represents interagency synergy in providing care and attention to workers and labourers,” he added.

He further emphasised that BPJS Ketenagakerjaan wishes to remain present with Indonesian workers, not only in providing protection at work and addressing occupational risks, but also during moments of family togetherness.

“We understand that for many workers, homecoming is an important moment to ease longing after working throughout the year. For this reason, we want to continue supporting Indonesian workers, not only when they are working, but also when they are enjoying time with their beloved families,” he said.

During the free homecoming send-off event, Minister of Manpower Yassierli expressed appreciation for the support of all stakeholders, including BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, enabling this year’s free homecoming programme for workers to proceed smoothly.

“We appreciate cooperation from our partners who have been working with the Ministry of Manpower to facilitate the homecoming programme and we certainly hope this cooperation will continue. We aim to send as many participants as possible in this free homecoming programme,” said Yassierli.

In addition to conveying President Prabowo Subianto’s message to all homecoming participants, Yassierli also urged all workers, once the homecoming concluded, to return to their respective workplaces with renewed spirit and dedication.

“After finishing your homecoming, return to your respective workplaces and resume your work, continue creating with the best dedication for the nation,” Yassierli concluded.
