BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and DJP Jakarta Barat Strengthen Synergy in Tax and Social Security Contributions Oversight
Jakarta — BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, together with the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP), through the West Jakarta Regional Office of the DJP, is strengthening synergy in supervising corporate compliance with tax obligations and the payment of social security contributions for workers. The collaboration is expected to boost employer compliance while broadening protection for workers.
The strengthening of cooperation was discussed in an audience between BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and the DJP West Jakarta Regional Office on Tuesday, 3 March 2026. Attending the meeting were Swartoko, a member of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Supervisory Board; Dery Mardona, Deputy for Supervision and Examinations at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, along with other officials; and Farid Bachtiar, Head of DJP Jakarta Barat.
This audience forms part of the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement signed on 13 August 2025. Through the cooperation, both agencies commit to strengthen coordination in oversight and to improve the effectiveness of data and information use.
In the meeting, both sides discussed a number of strategic collaboration opportunities, including data exchange, joint outreach to employers, and joint visits to companies. This step is considered important to ensure companies meet both tax obligations and payment of social security contributions.
Swartoko said that synergy between government agencies is an important step to strengthen oversight of corporate compliance with various regulations.
“Collaboration between BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and the Directorate General of Taxes is part of an effort to strengthen oversight of employers’ compliance, both in tax payments and in ensuring worker reporting, wages declared, and programmes followed, as well as BPJS Ketenagakerjaan contributions in accordance with applicable regulations. This is important to ensure workers receive adequate protection,” Swartoko said.
He added that integrated information and closer coordination between agencies can improve oversight effectiveness and encourage companies to comply with their obligations more orderly.
On the other hand, this cooperation is also an effort by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to broaden the coverage of protection for workers through various social security programmes, such as work accident insurance, unemployment insurance, and pension guarantees.
