BPH Migas: Fuel Supply on Subang–Indramayu Alternative Route Secure
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BPH Migas) has ensured that the supply and distribution of fuel oil (BBM) along the Subang–Indramayu alternative route in West Java remains secure ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
BPH Migas Committee Member Bambang Hermanto, in a press statement in Jakarta on Friday, stated that this assurance was obtained after the agency conducted direct monitoring at several public fuel filling stations (SPBU) along that alternative route.
He emphasised that fuel availability is maintained not only on main routes and toll road rest areas but also on alternative routes commonly chosen by mudik travellers.
These steps are taken to anticipate a significant increase in vehicle traffic from holidaymakers.
“In addition to ensuring fuel availability on main routes and toll road rest areas, we are also ensuring and directly monitoring that fuel is available and in safe condition on alternative routes,” Bambang said.
According to him, alternative routes play a crucial role in easing traffic congestion during peak mudik flows. Therefore, fuel availability on those routes must be maintained to ensure smooth travel for the public.
In addition to quantity, BPH Migas also stressed the importance of the quality of the distributed fuel. Checks are conducted to prevent technical issues in vehicles during the journey.
“We also checked the fuel quality at SPBU on this alternative route so that holidaymakers’ vehicles do not experience disruptions and they feel safe and at ease,” he said.
Bambang also urged the public to remain cautious during their mudik journeys. He affirmed that people need not worry about energy availability as fuel supplies have been well-prepared along all mudik routes.
“For those undertaking mudik, we assure that all SPBU on toll roads, the north coast road (pantura) or main roads, as well as alternative routes, have fuel supplies available,” he said.
