Jakarta — The BP BUMN, the Agency for State-Owned Enterprises, organised the Presidential Future Leaders Program (PFLP) BUMN Batch 1, officially selecting 400 prospective future leaders of state-owned enterprises to oversee the transformation of state-owned companies. Head of BP BUMN and Chief Operating Officer Danantara Dony Oskaria, in a statement from Jakarta on Wednesday, said he personally followed the selection process. The programme, he added, is part of an effort to train future leaders of state-owned enterprises who are ready to strengthen the transformation and governance of the state-owned sector. ‘The restructuring involves consolidation, restructuring, divestment, and even dissolution,’ he said. The selected participants will be prepared as top talents with integrity, discipline and a strong sense of nationalism to support the national development agenda. The 400 participants were chosen from 717 applicants after assessments of competence, character, discipline, national outlook, and commitment to national values. Dony stressed that a comprehensive transformation within the BUMN landscape is an important step to make the management of state assets more transparent and accountable. He said the transformation must be accompanied by the presence of outstanding talents with strong character. The professional and integrity-driven selection process is fully supported by BP BUMN. Those who advance to the next stage will be prepared to become leaders who are not only intellectually capable but also possess spiritual awareness and strong nationalism. Meanwhile, Deputy Defence Minister Donny Ermawan Taufanto said the PFLP programme is a direct directive from President Prabowo Subianto to prepare superior human resources. The participants will undergo three months of military-style training at Kodiklat TNI. ‘First, we will educate those from BUMN. We will empower the newly recruited employees for selection and training in this programme,’ he said. The programme has also drawn positive responses on social media. One account, @irwansaleh55, wrote, ‘This programme is really cool! Especially being toughened by the TNI, it will surely strengthen character and discipline. Great, Mr Dony Oskaria!’ Meanwhile, the account @qodarullahh said, ‘We need such strict selection. May those who pass truly become trustworthy leaders and bring real change for the BUMN and Indonesia.’
