JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - BP-AKR has decided not to increase fuel prices from 1 April 2026. This decision was taken while global oil prices are rising.

The step follows the government’s policy to hold prices for subsidised and non-subsidised fuels.

BP-AKR management stated that it will continue to adhere to the applicable regulations in the energy sector.

“We respect the government’s policy regarding the governance and determination of fuel prices in Indonesia,” it said in an official statement received by Kompas.com on Thursday (2/4/2026).

“BP-AKR always conducts its business activities in accordance with the provisions and mechanisms applicable in Indonesia’s energy sector, and remains committed to providing quality fuel and services to customers,” BP-AKR management wrote.

Previously, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia assured that fuel prices would not rise in April 2026. This policy applies to Pertamina and private business entities.

The government will still discuss the possibility of price adjustments. The decision will be made after observing global developments.

“Regarding the adjustment of prices for non-subsidised fuel, we will return to Jakarta, then we will conduct discussions by looking at the existing dynamics,” Bahlil said in an online press conference from Seoul, South Korea, on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

“Mr President always pays attention to putting the interests of the people first. Especially for our less fortunate brothers and sisters, they must receive more attention, in order to make policies so that everything can run well,” Bahlil stated.
