First of all I would like to thank Bouraq for the reduction of
ticket price given me for my Jakarta-Banjarmasin return trip. My
flight from Jakarta to Banjarmasin was excellent. However, the
return flight on Nov. 17, 1995 was not without problems. First
the flight was slightly delayed then, due to technical problems,
the aircraft had to return to Banjarmasin. It was here that
problems began to come up.
Bouraq did not give any assurance whether or not the flight
would be resumed so I canceled my flight with Bouraq and turned
to another airline although they did not give any price
reduction. Bouraq gave me my ticket slip back with unreadable
scribbling on it, telling me, "Your ticket will be reimbursed by
our central office in Jakarta." When I went to the office on Jl.
Angkasa I was told to go back to Banjarmasin for the ticket
refund because that was where I had purchased the ticket. What
nonsense!
I told them that it was impossible. Why couldn't the Jakarta
office settle this matter, bearing in mind that the cancellation
was made by Bouraq itself? It hurt me still more when I learned
that the Bouraq central office had sent a letter to Banjarmasin
asking Adi Angkasa Travel, where I bought the ticket, to reject
the refund.
