Boosting Village Economy, Ibas Oversees BSPS and Free Nutritious Meals in Pacitan
Edhie Baskoro stated this during his inspection of the Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance programme in Pacitan, while also providing socialisation regarding the Free Nutritious Meals programme to the community some time ago. The event was themed ‘Decent Housing, Strong Families, Dignified Independent Villages’ and was attended by more than 500 residents of Ngadirojo, Pacitan.
“At least 15 houses have been renovated through the BSPS or home surgery programme from the central government, and it is now complete,” said Ibas in his statement on Friday (8/5/2026).
He emphasised that the assistance should be appreciated as a tangible manifestation of the state’s presence in improving the quality of life for the community.
Furthermore, he stressed that decent housing is an important foundation for family welfare. According to him, a good home will contribute to family health and resilience.
“We must be grateful, because with decent housing, families can become healthier, more prosperous, and stronger,” he said.
Not only impacting social aspects, Ibas also highlighted the economic effects of the programme. He explained that house construction also moves the wheel of the village economy.
“Through this programme, the village economy is activated. Materials such as stones, wood, nails, to roof tiles circulate in our village. This programme, which appears simple, is actually very beneficial for the community,” he clarified.
In addition to BSPS, Ibas highlighted the importance of the Free Nutritious Meals programme as part of efforts to improve human resource quality. He affirmed that this programme aims to reduce stunting rates and ensure Indonesian children receive adequate nutrition.
“The Free Nutritious Meals programme is important to lower stunting. None of our children should lack or be malnourished,” he asserted.
He added that if this programme runs on target, its impact will not only be on health. But the programme can also provide an impact on the economic growth of the community.
“If this programme is on target, the people’s economy will also grow. Needs for rice, chicken meat, vegetables, and fruits will increase and circulate in our village,” he said.
Ibas stated the importance of support for the agricultural sector as the main pillar of the village economy. He explained that the presence of the Merah Putih Cooperative can help distribute farmers’ needs, including fertiliser.
“The Merah Putih Cooperative can be a solution for distributing fertiliser and agricultural needs so that they are more easily accessible by farmer groups,” he said.
In addition, Edhie Baskoro also encouraged strengthening agricultural infrastructure, especially irrigation systems. He assessed that water availability is a key factor in increasing agricultural productivity.
“We continue to push for improvements to irrigation channels so that agricultural land does not lack water, and support the use of more modern farming tools so that the results are increasingly optimal,” he concluded.
The event was also attended by the Regent of Pacitan Indrata Nur Bayu Aji, the Chairman of the Pacitan Regency DPRD Arif Setia Budi, members of the Pacitan Regency DPRD, the Regional Coordinator of BGN Pacitan Regency Listiana Asworo, as well as all Cokrokembang Village officials who together support the implementation of village development programmes and improvements in community welfare.
