Boom! Iran’s missiles strike the United States’ largest military base, Al-Udeid
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - A ballistic missile from Iran struck the United States military base at Al-Udeid on Tuesday local time (3 March 2026). This was confirmed by Qatar’s Ministry of Defence as Iran attacked US and Israel targets across the Gulf in retaliation for the US-Israel attack. The ministry said Qatar was initially targeted by two missiles. One was intercepted while the other hit the Al-Udeid base in Qatar, AFP quoted in a statement, with no casualties. Earlier, Qatar had reported thwarting an attack on Hamad International Airport. Majed al-Ansari, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Gulf state, said: ‘There was an attempt to attack Hamad International Airport, all thwarted,’ adding that Qatar had not been in contact with Iran since the onset of the assault. ‘The missiles were shot down by our defence measures, and none reached the airport,’ he said. It is worth noting that on Tuesday, QatarEnergy, the state-owned energy company, said it would halt several downstream productions for a day after halting LNG production due to Iran’s attacks on facilities at two gas processing plants. ‘Following QatarEnergy’s decision to halt LNG production and related products, QatarEnergy is stopping several downstream products in Qatar, including urea, polymers, methanol, aluminium, and other products,’ the company said in a statement. Meanwhile, Iran’s military said on Tuesday its forces launched an attack on Israel and US bases in Qatar as fighting raged for a fourth day. ‘Combat drones from ground, air, and sea forces targeted the Zionist regime’s military areas in the occupied territories and the US troops’ base at Al-Udeid, Qatar,’ the army said in a statement carried by the Shargh daily.
