Bontang Investment Agency Holds Technical Guidance on Mandatory Investment Activity Reporting
Kaltim.akurasi.id, Bontang – In an effort to strengthen competitiveness and compliance among business operators in Bontang City, the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) of Bontang held a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) session on Investment Activity Reporting (LKPM) at the 3D Auditorium in Bontang on Wednesday (2/7/2025).
DPMPTSP Bontang Secretary Vinson, representing Agency Head Aspiannur, expressed his appreciation to the speakers and participants attending the event. "On behalf of the Bontang City Government, we extend our deepest gratitude and highest appreciation for the attendance of speakers and participants at this technical guidance session," he said in his opening remarks.
Vinson emphasised that the LKPM reporting obligation is regulated under BKPM Regulation Number 5 of 2021, Article 5, which requires all business operators — both Domestic Investment (PMDN) and Foreign Investment (PMA) — to submit periodic reports on the progress of their company activities. The LKPM itself covers information on investment realisation and challenges faced by companies.
According to him, the LKPM is not merely a formality but an important instrument for monitoring investment implementation and serves as material for government policy evaluation and formulation. Through this technical guidance activity, business operators in Bontang are expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of online LKPM reporting procedures.
"With LKPM, your businesses can move up from micro and small enterprises to medium-sized ones. Through these reports, we can facilitate partnerships with large companies as well as other funding opportunities," Vinson explained.
LKPM reporting follows different schedules based on business scale. For micro and small enterprises (UMK), reports are submitted every semester, specifically from 1–10 July and 1–10 January. Meanwhile, medium-sized enterprises, large enterprises, and foreign investment companies are required to report quarterly, namely from 1–10 April, 1–10 July, 1–10 October, and 1–10 January.
Vinson warned that failure to submit the LKPM could result in administrative sanctions, including the revocation of investment permits by the Ministry of Investment/BKPM. He expressed hope that through continued guidance, business operators in Bontang City would play an active role in building a healthy, transparent, and accountable investment climate.
As part of the guidance series, Vinson also announced the next agenda item: a Socialisation on the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing Supervision, scheduled for 3 July 2025. This socialisation is specifically aimed at medium and large business operators.
"We urge all business operators classified as non-UMK to attend and participate in tomorrow's follow-up socialisation session," he concluded.
