Bogor Zoology Museum Now Has Digital Forest Where Visitors Can "Meet" Rhinos and Whales
Bogor — The Bogor Botanical Gardens has unveiled a new innovation at its Zoology Museum through the development of immersive technology that enables visitors to experience more interactive educational encounters.
This technology is realised through a digital space called Immerzoa, which offers three-dimensional (3D) visual experiences allowing visitors to feel as though they are immersed in the world of fauna.
Through this space, visitors can observe various animals in the Zoology Museum’s collection presented as interactive digital visuals.
Marga Anggrianto, Managing Director of PT Mitra Natura Raya, said the innovative 3D interactive space was designed to help younger generations, particularly Generation Z, understand the fauna collections at the Zoology Museum.
Meanwhile, Dadan Mohamad Nurjaman, Deputy for Research and Innovation Infrastructure at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), observed that museums displaying only static collections such as animal skeletons often fail to attract visitors, especially younger generations.
However, he noted that museums play an important role in delivering education to the public.
With the introduction of Immerzoa technology, the Bogor Botanical Gardens’ Zoology Museum is expected to offer more engaging educational experiences through interactive visual and storytelling approaches.
“The current generation is a digital generation. If they only see static objects, they are not interested. But if it takes a digital form with technological touches, Generation Z will be able to absorb the information more easily,” he said.
