The Bogor Regency Legislative Council (DPRD), together with the Regent of Bogor, the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri), and members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), planted approximately 1,000 trees to restore the Pakansari Stadium area on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.

Bogor DPRD Chairman Sastra Winara said the activity followed a tornado that caused a number of trees to fall and damaged the largest stadium in Bogor Regency on Thursday, 12 February 2026. "A week ago, a tornado struck and damaged the area around Pakansari Stadium. Today it is being restored through regreening," Sastra Winara said on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.

On the occasion, Sastra Winara urged the residents of Bogor Regency to remain vigilant as weather conditions are currently poor and changing rapidly. "All residents of Bogor Regency should be more careful and alert, because the weather changes quickly. Naturally, when there is heavy rain and strong winds, preparations must be made," he said.

Meanwhile, Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto said that in addition to replacing trees felled by extreme weather, the planting also represents the local government's commitment to maintaining green open spaces. "A few days ago, Pakansari Stadium was hit by a tornado and several trees fell. We share the same view that trees are one of the earth's future," Rudy said after planting a tree.

According to him, the Pakansari Stadium area and the surrounding green spaces are a shared asset of Bogor Regency's residents that must be maintained and cared for sustainably. He expressed hope that the Pakansari Stadium area could be developed into one of the urban forests and green lungs of Cibinong Sub-district, which serves as the capital of Bogor Regency.

"We hope that Pakansari Stadium becomes one of the urban forests we are preparing and one of the green lungs of Cibinong Sub-district, Bogor Regency," he said.

Rudy explained that the total number of trees planted during the activity reached approximately 1,000, with more to be added in subsequent phases. Previously, the local government had addressed the tornado-felled trees by neutralising and clearing the affected areas.

"We are replacing the fallen trees with several trees at once, and we are also filling in several locations that did not yet have any plantings. This is effectively a replanting effort," Rudy said.
