Bogor District Police carried out a mosque cleaning campaign across the entire Bogor Regency, West Java, ahead of Ramadan. The activity was conducted simultaneously at 36 locations by police sector commands within the Bogor Police jurisdiction.

“Today, Bogor Police together with the community carried out the Geber Masjid Asri programme — a movement to clean mosques to make them safe, healthy, clean and beautiful. We cleaned 36 mosques, both from the district police command and from sector police stations across the area,” said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto at Al-Muhajirin Mosque in Cibinong on Wednesday (18 February 2026).

In addition to cleaning, Wikha said Bogor Police also planted trees around the mosques. He explained this was to support President Prabowo Subianto’s ASRI environmental stewardship programme, whilst simultaneously creating a comfortable atmosphere during Ramadan.

“This is part of the President’s ASRI programme, where we are reminded to always look after the environment. We ensure the environment is safe, clean, healthy and beautiful,” Wikha said.

“We also provided assistance in the form of fruit tree seedlings to be planted around the mosques. So we are making the mosque environment greener and more beautiful, and reminding residents that we must care for nature,” he added.

Wikha said that dozens of mosques targeted by the cleaning programme were fitted with CCTV cameras free of charge. This was done to enhance security so that the public could worship in peace and safety.

“In addition, we also provided CCTV assistance to mosque caretakers, so that we can help maintain the security of the mosques. Motorcycle parking areas and other facilities can be covered by the CCTV we provided to each mosque committee,” Wikha said.

“Our hope is that security during Ramadan, especially at places of worship during tarawih prayers, can be improved. We are also inviting residents to work together to create a safe and peaceful Ramadan worship atmosphere, devoted to worship for all of us,” he added.
