Bogor Police Chief Distributes Free CCTV Cameras to Mosques Ahead of Ramadan
Bogor District Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto has distributed free CCTV cameras to mosques at 36 locations across Bogor Regency, West Java. The measure is intended to anticipate security vulnerabilities at mosques and their surroundings during Ramadan.
“In addition, we are also providing CCTV assistance to mosque custodians, so that we can help maintain security at the mosques — motorcycle parking areas and other facilities can be covered by the CCTV cameras we have given to each mosque committee,” said Wikha at Al Muhajirin Mosque in Cibinong on Wednesday (18 February 2026).
“We know that during Tarawih prayers, many people come by motorcycle. Some also come by car. We are covering the parking areas with the CCTV cameras we have provided to these mosques, so the level of security can be better maintained,” he added.
Wikha expressed hope that the installation of CCTV at every mosque would allow residents to worship calmly and comfortably during Ramadan. He also called on the community to work together in maintaining security and order in their areas.
“Our hope is that security during Ramadan, especially at places of worship during Tarawih prayers, can be improved. We are also calling on residents to work together to create a safe, peaceful Ramadan atmosphere dedicated to worship for all of us,” said Wikha.
“For activities during Ramadan, we at Bogor District Police urge all members of the public to use their time during the holy month for positive activities. We are also providing advisory banners stating that parking areas are monitored by CCTV, and should any incident occur, people should report it to the 110 call centre,” he added.
The Bogor District Police have also organised a mosque-cleaning campaign across the entire Bogor Regency ahead of Ramadan. The campaign was carried out simultaneously at 36 locations by sector police stations under Bogor District Police jurisdiction.
“Today, we from Bogor District Police, together with the community, are carrying out the ‘Geber Masjid Asri’ programme — a movement to clean mosques to make them safe, healthy, spotless and beautiful. We have cleaned 36 mosques, involving both the district police headquarters and sector police stations,” said Bogor District Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto at Al-Muhajirin Mosque in Cibinong on Wednesday (18 February 2026).
