Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim stated that the Bogor City Government is still considering the finalisation of the Mayoral Regulation (Perwali) on public transport. According to Dedie, the drafting process is in the synchronisation stage with policies at the central government and West Java Provincial Government levels. “So we want to synchronise, but the main point is to release the Perwali on public transport as soon as possible. We discussed it yesterday with the provincial transportation department; it’s already done with the ministry, and now it’s being harmonised at the regional office. So it’s a process,” Dedie said in Tanah Sareal, Bogor City, on Thursday (30/4/2026). “Everything is in place; the core is public safety, then roadworthiness, and of course, we want Bogor City to be more orderly, more beautiful, cleaner, and smoother,” he added. This Perwali is a derivative of several regional regulations, namely Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2013, Number 10 of 2019, and Number 8 of 2023. One important point regulated is the arrangement of vehicle age as a basis for improving the security of public transport services. Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Bogor Jenal Mutaqin said that all proposals from angkot entrepreneurs, Sub-Unit Working Groups (KKSU), and the Land Transport Organisation (Organda) have been included in the List of Problem Inventory (DIM). “As long as it doesn’t conflict with the spirit of reducing angkot regulations on age limits, I think there’s no problem; the proposals are normative. But inputs that are too far-reaching and conflicting certainly won’t be accommodated,” Jenal said at the Bogor City Hall on Monday (27/4/2026). “And that has been understood by the entrepreneurs during the initial pre-exposure that I led. We’re just finalising a bit. Insyaallah, soon I’ll ask permission from the Mayor first to speed up the finalisation of the Perwali on public transport,” he continued. The Bogor City Government is currently organising angkots to improve the safety and comfort of residents’ mobility. The drafting of the Perwali is part of these efforts, particularly regarding public transport vehicle age limits. “However, with the stipulation that affected parties must comply with the rules, surrendering vehicle documents aged 20 years or even 22 years. After that, reorganisation will be carried out on corridor routes according to the forthcoming Mayoral Regulation,” Jenal said, quoted from a written statement on Tuesday (27/1/2026). Route arrangements will later be adjusted to needs in each corridor. This step is seen as a solution to address the imbalance between the number of passengers and angkot fleets, which has long been a complaint from residents. “Meanwhile, raids related to the 20-year age limit have been stopped, but enforcement regarding driving licences and vehicle registrations continues as usual,” Jenal said.
