Bodies of Three Fallen TNI Soldiers in Lebanon Flown to Hometowns for Burial
The bodies of three TNI soldiers who fell during the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) peacekeeping mission were flown to their respective hometowns from Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta). The remains of these fallen soldiers will be interred at heroes’ cemeteries (TMP).
Observations by detikcom at the VIP Lounge of Terminal 3 at Soetta Airport on Saturday (4/4/2026) showed that the bodies of the three soldiers were carried for a ceremonial escort around 19:08 WIB. TNI soldiers participated in the escort ceremony.
Afterwards, the three bodies were taken to the aircraft, accompanied by their families. Major Infanteri Anumerta Zulmi Aditya Iskandar will be buried at TMP Cikutra, Bandung, West Java.
Sergeant Major Anumerta M Nur Ichwan will be interred at TMP Giri Dharmolyo II, Magelang. Meanwhile, Kopda Anumerta will be buried at TMP Giripeni, Kulon Progo.
The three bodies had previously arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport around 17:57 WIB. Prabowo Subianto was present in person for the reception of the remains.
Prabowo was seen conversing and shaking hands with the victims’ families. The families were also observed crying and embracing the coffins of the soldiers.
On Sunday (29/3), Private First Class Farizal Rhomadhon was killed after a projectile exploded near one of the group’s positions near Adchit al-Qusayr village in southern Lebanon. On Monday (30/03), the UN confirmed that two more TNI soldiers died after an explosion struck a UNIFIL logistics convoy.
Meanwhile, two others were injured. The incident, according to the UN, occurred near Bani Hayyan in southern Lebanon.
