Prosecutors have demanded a six-year prison sentence for the defendant, Irvian Bobby Mahendro, during the reading of the indictment at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday. In addition to the prison term, the prosecution is seeking a fine of 250 million IDR, with a subsidiary of 90 days of imprisonment. Furthermore, the prosecutor has demanded that Bobby pay restitution amounting to 60,329,415,416 IDR, failing which he must serve an additional two years in prison.

The prosecution stated that the defendants’ actions undermined government programmes aimed at establishing a governance system free from collusion, corruption, and nepotism. Mitigating factors considered include the defendants’ lack of prior criminal records, their family responsibilities, and their respectful conduct during the trial. Prosecutors believe Irvian Bobby Mahendro is guilty of violating Articles 12(b) and 12(B) in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law, alongside relevant provisions of the New Criminal Code.

Previously, KPK prosecutors indicted the former Deputy Minister of Manpower, Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan, also known as Noel, for orchestrating the extortion of K3 certification processing alongside several civil servants from the Ministry of Manpower. The prosecution alleged that Noel demanded a share of 3 billion IDR. The indictment stated that the illegal activities involved the misuse of power regarding the issuance and extension of individual Occupational Safety and Health (K3) certifications and licences. According to the indictment, the defendants coerced applicants to provide a total of 6,522,360,000 IDR, with the scheme dating back to 2021.
