BNN arrests an alleged TNI officer in a meth distribution case
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN RI) has arrested an alleged member of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and two civilians in a case of methamphetamine distribution tied to an Aceh–Bogor network, uncovered through Operation Saber Bersinar 2026. Acting Deputy for Enforcement Brigadier General Police Roy Hardi Siahaan told a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday that the case came to light early this morning in Parung Panjang, Bogor Regency. ‘So, we conducted surveillance and grew suspicious of a vehicle. It turned out inside the vehicle we found someone. We then examined him. The person is indeed an alleged TNI member,’ he said. When the suspects were unloading the goods, joint BNN officers raided with a raid, planning and execution (RPE) or enforcement. On examination, it was found that the methamphetamine evidence had been placed by the perpetrator in a compartment at the rear of the car. ‘In the rear compartment there were 29 kilograms. So, 29 packs of methamphetamine in Chinese tea packaging,’ he said. He also revealed that the TNI member played the role of distributor. ‘We have confirmed that the person is a distributor, carrying the goods from Aceh, via South Sumatra, to Bogor, and we managed to arrest him in Bogor,’ he continued. BNN RI carried out Saber Bersinar 2026 from April to May 2026. In total, 31 suspects were arrested. In addition, authorities seized methamphetamine amounting to 136.5 kilograms, cannabis 147 kilograms, etomidate 1,260 millilitres, ketamine 1,029 grams, and ecstasy 6,681 tablets. Overall, the operation is believed to have saved around 353,312 people from harm, with the potential economic value of the seized evidence estimated at Rp211.4 billion.
