BNN and PT Gyokai Prepare Post-Rehabilitation Job-Training Programme
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) together with PT Gyokai Indonesia are preparing a post-rehabilitation programme based on work-based training, during a meeting in Jakarta on Monday (11 May). The head of BNN RI, Inspector General of Police Suyudi Ario Seto, said that efforts to collaborate with the industrial sector are being strengthened to create a more sustainable post-rehabilitation programme for former narcotics users. ‘Economic empowerment and skills training are effective steps in reducing relapse risk among former narcotics users,’ Komjen Pol. Suyudi said, as quoted in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday. Therefore, the two parties agreed to strengthen the synergies of post-rehabilitation through the development of soft skills, job training, and psychological assessment before job placement. The initial phase of the programme is planned to be focused in the regions of Banten, West Java, and Central Java. In line with this, PT Gyokai Indonesia presented an intensive competency-based training programme with field practice and a guarantee of job placement at no additional cost. The company also introduced the ‘Paksa Sarjana’ programme in cooperation with a number of universities to open access to further education for participants in the training. The ‘Paksa Sarjana’ programme is an initiative by PT Gyokai Indonesia aimed at opening access to higher education and social reintegration. Its main objective is to prepare participants to have relevant skills, adapt quickly, and have a better future with higher educational qualifications. As concrete support for the BNN, PT Gyokai Indonesia together with 12 partner companies is ready to absorb at least 200 skilled workers. The move is hoped to accelerate the social reintegration of former narcotics users while supporting the realisation of Indonesia Bersih Narkoba (Indonesia Bersinar). The Indonesia Bersinar programme aims to realise across all regions and segments of Indonesia society a nation free from drug abuse and the circulation of illicit narcotics.
