BNI Promotes Decent Housing and Economic Empowerment in Manado
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI is strengthening access to decent housing by participating in the Collaboration Programme for Housing Financing and People’s Economic Empowerment in Manado, North Sulawesi.
In the event held at Graha Gubernuran Bumi Beringin, Manado, on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, participants attended a series of socialisation and financing agreement sessions, including Kredit Pemilikan Perumahan (KPP) and Fasilitas Likuiditas Pembiayaan Perumahan (FLPP).
This collaborative programme represents a synergy between the central government, local government, financing institutions, and the banking sector to expand housing financing access for low-income communities while promoting local economic empowerment.
A total of 600 participants attended the event, comprising 300 PNM participants, 200 KUR participants, and 100 participants in the Bantuan Stimulan Perumahan Swadaya (BSPS) programme, including UMKM actors, housing developers, building material shop partners, and prospective beneficiaries.
BNI Consumer Banking Director Corina Leyla Karnalies stated that the housing sector plays a strategic role in national development as it directly impacts community welfare.
“The housing sector has a significant multiplier effect, not only improving the quality of life for communities but also driving regional economic growth through job creation and strengthening supporting sectors,” Corina said in a written statement.
She emphasised that through this housing financing programme, the government is providing more affordable financing for low-income communities. As one of the main distributing banks, BNI is committed to strengthening programme implementation by enhancing product understanding in its branch network, expanding cooperation with local governments and developers, and actively collaborating with the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas.
According to Corina, the impact of the housing financing programme extends beyond home ownership, also contributing to workforce absorption and strengthening the supply chain in the construction sector and local UMKM.
BNI also provides digital service support through the wondr by BNI application, which facilitates customers in making instalment payments, transactions, and monitoring their financial conditions securely and quickly. “We continue to deliver integrated services so that communities can access housing financing easily, securely, and sustainably,” Corina asserted.
Through this housing financing collaboration and people’s economic empowerment, BNI is optimistic that the synergy between the government, banking sector, developers, and communities can accelerate the realisation of decent housing while strengthening the regional economy. This step reaffirms BNI’s commitment to promoting inclusive housing financing and reinforcing sustainable economic growth in various regions of Indonesia.
