PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, is strengthening access to decent housing through participation in the Collaborative Programme for Housing Financing and People’s Economic Empowerment in Manado, North Sulawesi. At the event held at Graha Gubernuran Bumi Beringin, Manado, on Wednesday (8/4/2026), participants attended a series of socialisation sessions and financing agreements, including Kredit Pemilikan Perumahan (KPP) and Fasilitas Likuiditas Pembiayaan Perumahan (FLPP). This collaborative programme represents a synergy between the central government, local government, financing institutions, and the banking sector to expand housing financing access for low-income communities while promoting local economic empowerment. A total of 600 participants attended the event, comprising 300 PNM participants, 200 KUR participants, and 100 participants in the Bantuan Stimulan Perumahan Swadaya (BSPS) programme, including UMKM actors, housing developers, building material shop partners, and prospective beneficiaries. The event was also attended by the Head of the Housing Task Force, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, North Sulawesi Governor Yulius Selvanus, and several leaders of institutions and other strategic partners. BNI’s Director of Consumer Banking, Corina Leyla Karnalies, stated that the housing sector plays a strategic role in national development as it directly impacts community welfare. “The housing sector has significant multiplier effects, not only improving the quality of life for the community but also driving regional economic growth through job creation and strengthening supporting sectors,” said Corina in a written statement. She emphasised that through this housing financing programme, the government is providing more affordable financing for low-income communities. As one of the main distributing banks, BNI is committed to strengthening the programme’s implementation through increased product understanding in its branch network, expansion of cooperation with local governments and developers, and active collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. According to Corina, the impact of the housing financing programme extends beyond home ownership to contributing to workforce absorption and strengthening the supply chain in the construction sector and local UMKM. BNI also offers digital service support through the wondr by BNI application, which facilitates customers in making instalment payments, transactions, and monitoring their financial condition securely and quickly. “We continue to provide integrated services so that the community can access housing financing easily, safely, and sustainably,” said Corina. Through this housing financing collaboration and people’s economic empowerment, BNI is optimistic that the synergy between the government, banking sector, developers, and the community can accelerate the realisation of decent housing while strengthening the regional economy. This step reaffirms BNI’s commitment to promoting inclusive housing financing while supporting sustainable economic growth across various regions in Indonesia.
