Jakarta — PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) is preparing Rp23.97 trillion in cash to meet the transaction needs of the public ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah and to anticipate increased cash withdrawals and transaction surges during the peak mudik (homecoming) period.

BNI’s Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that the liquidity provision has been adjusted based on projections of increased public demand during this period.

“BNI ensures liquidity and service network readiness so that the public can transact safely and comfortably during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period,” Okki said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

Of the total funds prepared, Rp16.64 trillion has been allocated for filling Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and Cash Recycle Machines (CRMs). Meanwhile, the remaining Rp7.33 trillion is being set aside to meet transaction needs at branch office outlets.

BNI estimates daily cash needs during this period will reach approximately Rp1.71 trillion. This projection takes into account trends in increased public transactions, including holiday allowance (THR) withdrawals, Eid shopping, and mudik preparations.

To support services during the Eid holiday, BNI will also operate branch offices with limited services on 20 March 2026 at 23 outlets and on 23 March 2026 at 32 outlets.

The limited operational services are open from 10:00 to 12:00 local time and serve specific transactions such as Pertamina fuel deposits, Bulog contributions, government revenue, fund transfers between BNI accounts, and cash deposits and withdrawals.

Beyond branch office networks, BNI is optimising its BNI Mobile Services (O-Branch) positioned at strategically important locations such as mudik routes, tourist areas, and crowded locations.

The bank also relies on more than 217,000 Agent46 representatives distributed throughout Indonesia to bring banking services closer to the public.

On the digital front, BNI continues to encourage use of the wondr by BNI application, which by the end of February 2026 had been used by 12.7 million customers.

Through this application, the public can conduct various transactions such as fund transfers, bill payments, purchases, and expenditure monitoring without needing to visit branch offices.

With liquidity readiness of nearly Rp24 trillion and support from an extensive service network, BNI ensures that the public’s transaction needs during Ramadan and Eid 2026 can be met smoothly, safely, and in an integrated manner, both through physical and digital channels.

“We are committed to providing optimal services through synergy of physical and digital networks so that customers’ banking needs during the mudik and Eid al-Fitr period are well served,” concluded Okki.
