PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) is preparing IDR 23.97 trillion in cash to meet transaction needs ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. This step is being taken to anticipate surges in cash withdrawals and transaction activity ahead of the peak mass exodus period, which runs from 11-24 March 2026.

BNI’s Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that the liquidity provision has been adjusted in accordance with projected increases in public demand during this period.

“BNI ensures liquidity readiness and service network availability so that the public can transact safely and comfortably during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period,” Okki said in a written statement.

From the total funds prepared, IDR 16.64 trillion has been allocated for filling Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and Cash Recycle Machines (CRMs). Meanwhile, an additional IDR 7.33 trillion is being prepared to meet transaction needs at branch office outlets.

BNI estimates that cash demand during this period will reach approximately IDR 1.71 trillion per day. This projection takes into account trends in increased public transactions, including holiday allowance (THR) withdrawals, Eid purchases, and travel preparation expenses.

To support services during the Eid holiday break, BNI will operate branch offices on a limited basis on 20 March 2026 with 23 outlets and on 23 March 2026 with 32 outlets.

Limited operational services will be open from 10.00-12.00 local time and will serve specific transactions such as Pertamina fuel deposits, Bulog deposits, state revenue collection, inter-account transfers within BNI, as well as cash deposits and withdrawals.

Beyond the branch network, BNI is optimising its Mobile Banking Service (O-Branch), which is deployed at strategically selected locations such as mass exodus routes, tourist areas, and high-traffic points. The company also relies on more than 217,000 Agent46 representatives distributed across Indonesia to bring banking services closer to the public.

On the digital side, BNI continues to promote the use of the wondr by BNI application, which by the end of February 2026 has been used by 12.7 million customers. Through this application, the public can conduct various transactions such as fund transfers, bill payments, purchases, and expenditure monitoring without having to visit branch offices.

With liquidity readiness of nearly IDR 24 trillion and support from an extensive service network, BNI ensures that public transaction needs during Ramadan and Eid 2026 can be met smoothly, safely, and in an integrated manner, both through physical and digital channels.

“We are committed to delivering optimal services through synergy between our physical and digital networks so that our customers’ banking needs during the exodus and Eid period remain adequately fulfilled,” Okki said.
