The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) has urged the public to remain vigilant about potential extreme weather conditions across Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Greater Jakarta/Jabodetabek) on Monday, 2 March 2026. Heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning or thunder and strong winds are predicted to occur at several locations.

BMKG forecaster Sufia Nur reported that over the next 24-hour period, weather conditions will generally be dominated by cloudy to very cloudy skies with potential light to moderate rainfall.

According to BMKG’s official report, the following timing breakdown applies for rainfall and strong winds across the Jabodetabek region:

One important point in this early warning is the potential for strong winds during evening hours. BMKG has noted surface winds blowing from south-westerly to westerly directions with relatively high speeds, ranging between 5 to 45 kilometres per hour.

Beyond wind factors, air temperatures in the Bogor City and Regency areas are forecast to be cooler at 20-28 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, for other Jabodetabek regions, air temperatures will range between 24-30 degrees Celsius with humidity levels reaching 70-90 per cent.

The public is advised to avoid sheltering under large trees, billboards or weakly constructed structures when strong winds occur in order to avoid accident risks.

BMKG will continue to update weather information on a regular basis. The public is encouraged to monitor official weather information channels to anticipate sudden atmospheric condition changes.
