Blora Regent 'Descends the Mountain' to Inspect Damaged Road in Nglebak Village
Blora Regent Arief Rohman, accompanied by Deputy Regent Sri Setyorini, directly inspected the condition of the damaged road in Nglebak Village, Kradenan Subdistrict, on Wednesday (18/3/2026), following the viral social media coverage of the community’s self-help repair efforts. During the visit, the regent walked to examine the construction of concrete rabat roads on the Menden–Megeri and Getas Kalikangkung stretches and engaged in dialogue with the residents. Arief Rohman emphasised that his presence was not for creating content but to offer appreciation and real assistance to the community. He handed over aid in the form of 300 sacks of cement and instructed relevant agencies to deliver crushed stone to support the self-funded road repairs through the community’s contribution system. The Blora Regency Government also committed to continuing the road development using the 2026 revised budget or at the latest in 2027, while seeking support from the Regional Road Presidential Instruction (IJD) funds. The Nglebak villagers’ gotong royong model will even serve as a pilot for other villages, given the substantial infrastructure needs in Blora with 16 subdistricts and 295 villages/urban villages. The regent’s visit sparked discussion on social media, perceived by some as merely content creation, but the village government and residents refuted this, stating that the regent’s presence brought real aid and hope for road improvements, which are vital for around 3,000 Nglebak residents who primarily conduct economic activities in Ngawi due to the distant access to Blora city centre.
