The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) Representative for East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) has reported achievements in the 2025 Family Development, Population, and Family Planning Programme (Bangga Kencana) that exceeded targets. This programme involves assisting families at risk of stunting or children with dwarfism.

Head of BKKBN NTT Representative, Faizal Fahmi, conveyed this during the Coordination Meeting for the 2026 Bangga Kencana Programme at the Fernandes Hall, Governor’s Office of NTT Province, on Thursday (16/4/2026).

“So in 2025, BKKBN NTT was targeted to assist 28,615 stunting-risk families. However, the realisation was that we managed to assist 41,941 stunting-risk families, or about 146 percent of the target,” Faizal explained.

From these efforts, BKKBN NTT successfully gathered support funding of around Rp 2.1 billion. “Which was channelled in the form of nutritional assistance, decent housing, clean water provision, and other aid,” he added.

Faizal further stated that several priority programmes from the Ministry of Family Development and Planning, such as Child Loving Care Parks, Indonesian Exemplary Fathers Movement, and Empowered Elderly, are running well and meeting central government targets.

“Success was also recorded in the Parents’ Movement to Prevent Stunting programme, which exceeded the target,” Faizal said.

On the other hand, the total fertility rate (TFR) or total fertility rate in NTT is currently 2.8 percent. This represents the average number of children born to a woman during her reproductive years.

“This means that the average family in NTT has two to three children,” Faizal clarified.

The achievement of active family planning (KB) participants is at 40 percent, while the unmet family planning needs are recorded at 25 percent.

Regarding the preparation of the provincial-level population development roadmap, out of 22 regencies/cities in NTT, 9 areas have completed the document, while 12 others are still in process.

“We continue to provide guidance together with the Family Planning OPD so that the preparation of this population development document can run well,” Faizal stated.

For the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 115, BKKBN NTT is also playing a role in distribution and education to target families.

Meanwhile, the number of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in NTT reaches 246 units, with 184 of them or about 74.7 percent having distributed the MBG programme.

“The total number of beneficiaries currently reaches 64,459 people, with an average of about 350 recipients per SPPG. Whereas according to guidelines, one SPPG has the potential to serve up to 500 recipients,” he explained.

Faizal mentioned that throughout 2025, BKKBN NTT successfully received around 12 awards thanks to support from various work partners. “This is proof that strong collaboration can drive the success of family development programmes in East Nusa Tenggara,” Faizal concluded.
