Jakarta (ANTARA) - Bank Indonesia (BI) notes that the Indonesian Credit Card (Kartu Kredit Indonesia, KKI) in the Government segment has been used by 267 local governments with total transactions reaching Rp665 billion since its launch in 2022. The KKI is a payment instrument intended for government units to make purchases of goods or services with funds sourced from the state or regional budgets (APBN/APBD). Deputy Governor of BI Filianingsih Hendarta, in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday, said that KKI is one of the payment system innovations that strengthen the implementation of Elektronisasi Transaksi Pemerintah Daerah (ETPD). In addition to KKI, she noted that various local governments have also utilised QRIS to bolster regional revenue, enhance efficiency and transparency of regional government transactions. BI, together with the Task Force for Accelerating and Expanding Regional Digitalisation (Satgas P2DD), continues to push for increased capacity of local governments in strengthening ETPD implementation, while promoting digitalisation of public services and more transparent and accountable regional financial governance. One of the initiatives undertaken is the Capacity Building and Literacy Synergy P2DD Programme (KATALIS P2DD). BI states that KATALIS P2DD is a concrete step in supporting the national development agenda Asta Cita, while accelerating the digitalisation of regional finances in a more targeted and sustainable manner.
