BI Bengkulu Distributes Rp 22.4 Billion for Currency Exchange Ahead of Eid 2026
Bank Indonesia’s (BI) Bengkulu Representative Office has distributed Rp 22.4 billion for currency exchange ahead of Eid 2026.
This was announced by the Head of Bank Indonesia’s Bengkulu Provincial Representative Office, Wahyu Yuwana Hidayat, at the opening of the Rupiah Celebration and Eid Blessing event (SERAMBI) on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
According to Wahyu, the currency exchange realisation distributed to over 6,000 residents has reached a significant portion of the Rp 31 billion target, with a distribution target of 12,000 to 13,000 residents this year.
This service is part of the Rupiah Celebration Ramadan and Eid Blessing activities for 2026. To reach the wider public, BI Bengkulu operates mobile cash counters at seven service points across Bengkulu City and several regencies, including Seluma, Kepahiang, and Lebong.
“We also partner with banks to expand the currency exchange service to 30 bank offices, comprising 21 banks in Bengkulu City and the remainder spread across South Bengkulu, Mukomuko, and Lubuk Linggau,” explained Wahyu.
To ensure the currency exchange process runs orderly and comfortably, all integrated services use an online booking system through the PINTAR application accessible via https://pintar.bi.go.id. The public is urged to register online first before visiting the exchange locations.
“Going forward, BI Bengkulu plans to add additional service points ahead of the Eid holiday. Several strategic locations being prepared include the Grand Mosque of Kaur Regency, Fatmawati Soekarno Bengkulu Airport, and Taba Penanjung Rest Area,” he added.
At the SERAMBI 2026 event, Wahyu noted that beyond providing physical currency, BI continues to campaign the spirit of Love, Pride, and Understanding (CBP) of the Rupiah. The public is asked to care for currency following the “5 Don’ts” principle: do not fold, do not crumple, do not write on, do not staple, and do not wet.
Meanwhile, “Understanding the Rupiah” means the public understands the role of currency in supporting economic activities by behaving with Smart Shopping, namely purchasing according to needs and maintaining financial balance for families during Ramadan and Eid.
On the other hand, BI Bengkulu together with the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) of Bengkulu Province and Bulog also held a discount market. This step was taken to maintain food price stability amid increasing demand ahead of Eid.
Meanwhile, Bengkulu City Deputy Mayor Ronny PL Tobing urged residents not to engage in panic buying, particularly in the period leading up to Eid.
“Commodities such as rice, cooking oil, eggs, and frozen meat are provided at affordable prices to ensure food stock availability remains secure for all Bengkulu residents,” said Ronny, who also opened and directly reviewed the implementation of the discount market at the SERAMBI 2026 event.
