JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has indefinitely suspended the SPPG Pondok Kelapa unit in East Jakarta. It turns out that SPPG Pondok Kelapa does not yet have a kitchen layout and Wastewater Treatment Installation (IPAL) that meets standards. SPPG Pondok Kelapa is known to be the entity responsible for preparing MBG menus, including for 72 primary school (SD) students in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, who are suspected of suffering poisoning after consuming the distributed MBG on Thursday (2/4/2026). “We have suspended SPPG Pondok Kelapa indefinitely because the kitchen conditions, including the layout and Wastewater Treatment Installation (IPAL), still do not meet standards,” stated Deputy Head of BGN for Public Communication and Investigation, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, in a press release on Saturday (4/4/2026). “A delay between cooking and consumption can potentially reduce food quality and trigger health issues,” she said. BGN assures that it will tighten supervision to prevent similar incidents and guarantee food safety in the implementation of MBG. “We extend our apologies for this incident,” said Nanik. “We will also take responsibility for all hospital treatment costs,” Nanik added. “The food was prepared by SPPG at the Pondok Kelapa 2 location,” said Pramono after visiting the victims at RSKD Duren Sawit on Saturday (4/4/2026). “I saw earlier that most of the affected victims are suspected to be from the spaghetti food,” Pramono stated. After consuming the menu, the students experienced various poisoning symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, and abdominal pain.
