BGN Suspends 1,256 Nutrition Service Units in Eastern Indonesia for Failing to Register SLHS and Lacking Wastewater Treatment Facilities
JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is implementing a temporary suspension of operations against 1,256 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in eastern Indonesia, effective from Wednesday, 1 April 2026. Director of Regional Monitoring and Supervision III at BGN, Rudi Setiawan, explained that the suspension is due to these SPPG units not having registered their Hygiene and Sanitation Certificates (SLHS) and lacking Wastewater Treatment Installations (IPAL). “The SPPG units we will suspend, effective from 1 April 2026 in Region III, are those that do not yet have SLHS and IPAL,” Rudi stated in his remarks on Wednesday. “SLHS and IPAL are essential to guarantee food safety and maintain environmental cleanliness standards in the implementation of the National Food Fulfilment (MBG) programme,” he added. He emphasised that BGN seeks to ensure all SPPG units across Indonesia meet standards in terms of food safety and waste management. “This is crucial to protect the health of the beneficiaries,” Rudi stressed. However, up to the specified deadline, several SPPG units have yet to register for SLHS or provide IPAL facilities. “SPPG units that have met all requirements can resume operations after undergoing verification,” he said. Rudi urged the temporarily suspended SPPG units to promptly make improvements and complete the necessary requirements.
