Jambi City (ANTARA) – The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has imposed sanctions on eight Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) in Jambi, for reportedly not complying with the rules of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Programme.

Eight kitchens have already been issued a first warning letter (SP1), in the form of a direct written reprimand, said Adityo Wirapranatha, Head of BGN Regional Office in Jambi, in Jambi on Thursday.

According to him, the government through BGN is conducting tight monitoring of the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals programme in Jambi Province.

The step was taken following the discovery of a number of kitchen infrastructures and service quality aspects deemed to require significant improvements.

At the same time, it is a follow-up to a series of previous incidents, aimed at ensuring that every meal reaching the public is of the best possible standard, supporting health and nutrition.

As a demonstration of commitment, BGN has implemented administrative procedures for operators who do not meet standards—the evidence being that eight MBG kitchen operators in Jambi have been sanctioned.

Wirapranatha said that BGN applies a tiered sanctions scheme to ensure compliance, by producing an initial investigation report (BAP) identifying the problems.

If repeated violations are still found and reach the third warning, BGN will ensure the permanent closure of the kitchens for operators who continue to fail to meet the standards.

The agency also apologised to all beneficiaries in Jambi for the inconvenience, and will continue to actively report complaints directly to the local SPPG so that on-the-ground obstacles can be addressed and corrected promptly.
