BGN reminds SPPG units to comply with government operational technical guidelines
Malang, East Java (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has reminded all Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) to comply with the operational technical guidelines (juknis) issued by the government.
Director of Regional Monitoring and Supervision I of BGN, Harjito, met after the opening and inspection of SPPG Sukoharjo 2 Klojen in Malang City, East Java, on Friday, emphasised that any SPPG found operating not in accordance with the juknis will be subject to sanctions of suspension or temporary cessation.
During the period of temporary suspension, BGN will supervise the SPPG in carrying out improvement processes that include the completeness of facilities.
The completeness of facilities, he continued, includes aspects such as wastewater treatment installation (IPAL), waste management, and so on.
Once all requirements are met, the relevant SPPG will be permitted to resume operations.
Specifically in Malang City, Harjito said, there was one SPPG that was previously subjected to a temporary operational suspension sanction because it served Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) in an unfit condition for consumption.
“However, we have conducted guidance and education. Hopefully, there will be no similar incidents in Malang City in the future. Overall, the conditions in Malang City are already okay (good),” he stated.
Regarding the evaluation in Java Island, he conveyed that the results of that stage show that on average, SPPG have been operating in accordance with the existing juknis.
“East Java, Central Java, and West Java have a considerable number of SPPG, around 11,000. Indeed, there are some points that are out of our reach, for example in remote areas or coastal borders that are sometimes difficult to access,” he said.
BGN has opened an information channel at number 127, which can be used by the public to report any findings on the quality of MBG from SPPG. In addition, reports can be submitted to regional coordinators or sub-district level coordinators.
The National Nutrition Agency ensures that every public report received will receive attention and follow-up in the field.
Meanwhile, Malang City Mayor Wahyu Hidayat stated that the arrival of the Director of Regional Monitoring and Supervision I of BGN, Harjito, was to ensure that the newly opened SPPG that will operate meets the established standards.
Wahyu conveyed that from the inspection results, it was found that the operations of SPPG Sukoharjo 2 Klojen are already in accordance with the rules, such as the circulation of processing up to the food packaging stage, supporting facilities, and the availability of cleaning equipment for food ingredients at certain temperatures.
“(Task division among officers), so no officer (person) should mix,” he said.
