Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, stated that the digitalisation programme titled Village Prosecutor Guard (“Jaga Desa”) can add oversight facilities for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme.

Dadan said that the presence of the application, initiated by the Attorney General’s Office in collaboration with the Ministry of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions, can spur the seriousness of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in implementing the MBG programme.

“With this Jaga Desa application, it adds to that oversight, so I think this will make all our partners, all our SPPGs, even more serious in managing the nutritious meals programme; it will be of higher quality and more accountable,” said Dadan when met after the Jaga Desa Award 2026 event in Jakarta on Sunday evening (19/4).

According to him, the Jaga Desa application is relevant to the MBG programme. The application enables various aspects of village development, including the use of funds from public money, to be monitored digitally.

Dadan mentioned that 93 percent of BGN’s budget for MBG is disbursed to virtual accounts of SPPGs across Indonesia, which are mostly located in villages.

“With the collaboration between BGN and the Attorney General’s Office, I think the oversight related to the utilisation of funds in the virtual accounts at each SPPG will be even more intensive,” he said.

“So, in addition to the deputy for monitoring and oversight, there is the inspectorate, community monitoring, now there is an addition, besides BPKP (Financial and Development Supervisory Agency), also from the Attorney General’s Office,” he added.

In addition, Dadan reaffirmed his agency’s commitment to comprehensive oversight of MBG implementation, not only on fund utilisation but also on food menu quality.

“So far, every SPPG has been required to upload all the menus produced every day, with explanations of nutritional adequacy figures and prices; and for all beneficiaries, feedback mechanisms are now being prepared regarding the services provided, both in terms of timeliness and menu quality,” said Dadan.

The Attorney General of Indonesia, ST Burhanuddin, stated that the programme is a manifestation of the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office’s commitment to safeguarding village governance from all forms of legal deviations.

“This programme is a concrete manifestation of our commitment as the Prosecutor’s Office to continue guiding and directing all village governments transparently, accountably, and free from legal deviations,” he said.

In his speech at the event, Attorney General Burhanuddin emphasised the importance of a collective spirit to support good village governance. He also hoped there would be no more disgraceful acts in the village environment, especially corruption.
