BGN exposes SPPG point processing scam defrauding victims of billions of rupiah
JAKARTA — The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has exposed a scam involving fraudulent SPPG point processing under the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG), defrauding victims of billions of rupiah.
Deputy Head of BGN Sony Sonjaya stated that one case handled by the West Java Police has recorded losses of Rp1.9 billion. “The West Java Police case amounts to Rp1.9 billion,” Sony said at a press conference at the Bareskrim Polri headquarters in Jakarta on Monday (25 May 2026).
According to him, the losses came from 21 victims, each averaging around Rp100 million. In Batam, total victim losses are estimated at Rp400 million for two victims.
Sony said the agency is now collaborating with the MBG Task Force and Bareskrim Polri following increasing public reports of alleged SPPG point trading.
According to him, perpetrators typically pose as close associates of BGN officials or even impersonate them to offer SPPG point processing services in exchange for money. “The more cases I hear about, the more victims there are,” he said.
However, after obtaining an ID, the perpetrators do not proceed with MBG kitchen construction but instead offer to process points for others in exchange for money. “That’s where the transactions happen,” he said.
Additionally, some groups pose as foundations to collect SPPG point requests from the public. Victims are then asked to pay fees ranging from Rp25 million to Rp50 million. However, victims never receive the SPPG ID as the service providers are not official registration entities.
