BGN Does Not Bar Public from Documenting and Uploading MBG Meals Deemed Unfit
The Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, said that BGN does not prohibit members of the public from documenting and uploading to the internet when they find a Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) menu that is unfit. She argued that such actions can help BGN monitor the MBG programme’s implementation. ‘We really hope and are greatly helped if the public uploads the menu. But please specify which school, which SPPG village, which area, which district, which regency. We will follow up immediately,’ she said after attending a coordination meeting (rakor) on MBG implementation held at the Gradhika Bakti Praja Building, Central Java Governor’s Office Complex, Semarang, on Tuesday (3/3/2026). She claimed that BGN is ready to act against SPPG proven not to meet procedures and provisions in the process from preparation to serving MBG. ‘If the menu is not correct, we suspend the kitchen, we close the kitchen,’ she added. Nanik revealed that currently the number of SPPG operating nationally has reached 24 thousand. The target for establishing SPPG is 30 thousand units. ‘We only have 70 inspectors at BGN. How can we supervise more than 30 thousand kitchens? Right now it is 24 thousand,’ she said. ‘So we now need the public to help monitor. But please specify the address, the SPPG location, and when? Do not upload videos from last year again,’ she added.
