Beware of Scams! Proliferation of Fake Kopdes Recruitment Registration Links
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The government has revealed a proliferation of scams masquerading as recruitment for Koperasi Desa Merah Putih. The methods employed vary, from disseminating fake links to demanding money from applicants. This phenomenon is deemed dangerous as it risks stealing citizens’ personal data while causing financial harm. The government has issued a stern warning. “There are individuals misusing the name of Kopdes Merah Putih to spread fake links, putting personal data at risk of misuse,” stated Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs office on Monday (4/5/2026). Furthermore, practices have been found where payments are solicited in exchange for promises of passing the selection. However, the government officially never collects any fees. “Even collecting fees, asking for money, payments. We emphasise, there is not a single rupiah in costs,” he said. The government stresses that there is only one official channel accessible to the public regarding this recruitment process. Anything outside of that is certainly invalid. “The only official website is phtc.panselnas.go.id. There is nothing else,” Zulkifli asserted. Moreover, no internal government parties can assist in passing selection participants. This means that if any party offers such services, it is certainly fake. “Even those coming to the Coordinating Minister asking for help cannot. Ministers cannot either. So there is no back channel,” he said. Zulhas even urged the public not to hesitate to report if they encounter suspicious practices. “If anyone asks for money, that is definitely a scam and just report it to law enforcement,” he said. The proliferation of hoaxes and false information on social media makes it increasingly difficult for the public to distinguish the truth. “These days, there are all sorts of weird hoaxes; we never said anything, and suddenly new news appears,” he revealed. The government is also collaborating with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency to monitor and handle the spread of such false information. The aim is to keep the recruitment process clean and public trust undisturbed. “So we emphasise again, there are no levies, no special channels, and no one can guarantee passing,” Zulhas stated.
