Beware of mobile robbers
From Kompas
People from Tulungagung, East Java, should be extremely careful. My 69-year-old mother was robbed in a minivan on May 30, 1997. She was waiting for a bus from Trenggalek, at the crossroads of Jetakan Kalangbret, to the Tulungagung bus terminal when a minivan Colt L-300 stopped alongside her and offered her a lift. My mother said the vehicle was not a public van, but the driver said she shouldn't worry about it.
My mother got into the vehicle and noticed there were four male passengers, including the driver. She was not dropped off at the bus terminal. Instead she was driven in the direction of Sumbergempol. My mother was threatened with a knife before the men robbed the 100 grams of gold jewelry she wore that day and Rp 250,000.
My mother fainted after the mistreatment she received. The men blindfolded her, stuffed her mouth and discarded her in a rice field. When she regained consciousness, she discovered that she was bleeding and unable to walk. My mother cried for help. The rice farmers in the field helped her and accompanied her to the village administrator. She was then taken to the local police office. From there, they led her to the police office in Kalangbret, and finally to the Kalangbret Health Clinic.
