Beware of 'baby-sitters'

About two months ago, after reading an advertisement in a
Jakarta-based paper about well-trained baby-sitters placed by ASI
Foundation in Utan Kayu, East Jakarta, I decided to contact the
agency and hire one for my child.

I was disappointed because the baby-sitter could not do
anything that a baby-sitter should be able to do. She was nothing
more than a housemaid in a baby-sitter's uniform. More often than
not, rather than putting on her uniform, she dressed
inappropriately. She was very awkward, even when doing household
chores, and broke many things.

When she spoke to me or my husband, she had no manners at all.
Worse, she either spent hours watching television or gossiping
with neighborhood housemaids.
