Better life
Better life
While on holiday here in Jakarta, it is my observation your
country is in the process of growing and building itself. Your
people work hard and do not depend upon the government for
sustenance.
The U.S. seems by contrast to be lethargic and too satisfied
with its consumer goods and video entertainment. I do not think
the U.S. is growing with the same vigor as Indonesia -- in fact we
may be slowly moving toward decline in the next couple of
generations.
I sense your people understand they can build a better life
for their families by their hard work. I do not have the same
sense about the west. In fact work in the less glamorous
occupations is avoided by the young. They would rather watch TV
and dream of greatness. Your strength is your openness to trade
and new approaches. Your future seems bright.
