BEM Cyber University completes community service in the Gunung Malang Tourism Area, Lebak
BEM Cyber University has completed its community service activities in Citorek Sabrang Village, Cibeber District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province, from 12 to 14 February 2026. The programme is part of the Community Empowerment Programme (PM-BEM) under the Kemendiktisaintek 2025 plan, with a focus on strengthening the identity of the Gunung Malang Tourism Area. A group of nine students, led by BEM Cyber University Chair Bimo Yunda Permana Putra and accompanied by the Head of Cyber Center Cyber University, Dr Anang Martoyo, arrived at the site and were greeted by the Citorek Sabrang Village Head H Suarta Atmawijaya and village officials to coordinate equipment needs and implementation logistics. Activities included painting and inscribing the area’s identity, and placing a stone stele at the ‘Selamat Datang’ Welcome Gate in the Gunung Malang Tourism Area. The team also painted and installed letters and a stele at the Gunung Malang View Tower. To maximise efficiency, students were divided into two working groups tasked with completing the gate area and the viewing tower separately. Dr Anang Martoyo, Head of the Cyber Center, stated that the activity is part of the university’s tridharma—particularly in the community service aspect. ‘Students not only learn academically in classrooms but also engage directly with the community to make a tangible contribution,’ he said on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. He added that the programme is expected to yield positive impacts on developing local tourism potential in the area. ‘We hope the gate and viewing tower will strengthen the identity of the Gunung Malang Tourism Area and become an additional attraction for visitors,’ Dr Anang said. As Indonesia’s first Fintech-focused campus, Cyber University continues to promote student involvement in social initiatives and community empowerment. ‘Through this community service programme, we hope the contributions will have a sustainable impact on the local community,’ he concluded.
